Message from the Chair

The Biology Department Chair (2014 – present) is Dr. Susan E. Fahrbach.

Susan Fahrbach

Chair and Reynolds Professor of Neuroscience, Susan E. Fahrbach

Welcome to Biology at Wake Forest University. Our faculty are dedicated teachers and renowned researchers who collectively provide training that covers almost all aspects of biology, from molecules to the biosphere. We are committed to providing a rigorous science education within an uncompromising liberal arts framework. Our faculty work closely with undergraduate and graduate students in the classroom, the laboratory, and the field. Our graduates move confidently into a wide range of professions, including academic research, biology teaching, global change studies, and conservation biology. Our BA and BS degrees also provide a strong foundation for careers in medicine and the allied health professions. To promote student accomplishment, we strive to maintain first-class research and teaching facilities. I encourage you to examine and enjoy these webpages and to consider applying to our programs through these links:

Undergraduate application:  WFU Admissions site

Graduate application:  Graduate School of Arts and Sciences ONLINE application

And, if you are one of our alumni, we encourage you to get in touch with us and share your Wake Forest story and your post-Wake Forest career with us. We are currently developing a page of this site dedicated entirely to alumni. Until then, please connect with the Biology Department by e-mailing the Chair (fahrbach@wfu.edu).
