The Evolution group includes faculty with expertise in population genetics, molecular evolution, evolutionary genomics, behavioral evolution and evolutionary ecology. Researchers in this group study these evolutionary processes in a wide range of animal, plant, fungal, and viral systems.
The Biology Department has a research greenhouse, the Wake Forest Herbarium, and experimental research facilities for range of experimental approaches in evolutionary biology. Wake Forest University is proud to host a High-Performance Computing (HPC) Cluster called The Distributed Environment for Academic Computing or “DEAC” that is available for use by all researchers in the WFU community, which includes full-time staff support for research computational needs.
Graduate and undergraduate students interested in studying these topics are encouraged to contact the faculty members below to inquire about research mentorship opportunities. See the Graduate Program and Undergraduate Research pages for more information.
