Biology: Champions of Change

Biology Adjunct Professor Becky Dickson was recognized as a Champion of Change at the Eighth Campus Sustainability Awards Ceremony on April 19, 2021. Dr. Dickinson received the 2021 Academics and Award for her teaching on the application of geospatial techniques to sustainability. In addition to teaching BIO 379, Introduction to Geographic Information Systems, Dr. Dickson is also a Graduate School Professor of Environmental Science.
Julia McElhinny, a junior Biology major with minors in Environmental Studies and Math, was also recognized as a Champion of Change. She received a 2021 Service and Social Action Award for her work with the Energy Explorers Program. This program is offered to Forsyth County K-12 students in partnership with the Piedmont Environmental Alliance.
